Brickman on Fraudulent Claims

Lester Brickman (Cardozo) recently updated an article on fraudulent claims in the asbestos context on SSRN.  The title is “Disparities Between Asbestosis and Silicosis Claims Generated by Litigation Screenings and Clinical Studies.” The article was published in the Cardozo Law Review in 2007.

The bottom line, according to Brickman: “The conclusion I draw from the data andevidence presented is that Judge Jack’s findings with regard to themedical reports in the silica MDL applies with at least equal force tononmalignant asbestos litigation: the medical reports are mostlymanufactured for money.”
